Dr. Avra Tracht is the owner of All Tails Wagging Veterinary Clinic. Along with Dr. Susan Caputo, they seek to provide the highest standard of quality and compassion in veterinary care for our patients, and welcoming, informative, and supportive service for our clients. Both Dr. Tracht and Dr. Caputo create a Program of Care, customized to each patient and client's individual needs.
Dr. Avra Tracht has been practicing medicine since 1979, when she graduated from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. After working as a Veterinarian in Sonoma County for several years, Dr. Tracht purchased a practice in Bennett Valley, Santa Rosa, now called All Tails Wagging Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Tracht has advanced training and a personal interest in the areas of animal behavior and geriatric care. With an undergraduate degree in Psychobiology, Dr Tracht has special insight into animal behavior on a physiological basis. This understanding contributes to her strong abilities to educate and coach clients about specific behavior issues and how to best deal with them.
The second area of specialty, geriatric care, is a subject Dr. Tracht is also passionate about. She feels there is a lot we can do to improve the quality of life for older animals, and she derives great personal satisfaction by helping animals feel better and ultimately live longer.
Continuing education in areas such as vaccination protocols, cardiology, radiology, and geriatric care keeps Dr. Tracht and her team up to date with the latest research and techniques in veterinary care. Additionally, Dr. Tracht's extensive training in interpersonal communication is evidenced by the great relationships she has with clients, and the effective coaching and education she provides on a daily basis.
Dr. Susan Caputo graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science in 1981. She received her veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 1986 and then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialty Hospital.
Her special interests are in internal medicine, especially endocrinology, advanced dentistry, ultrasound, and feline medicine. Dr. Caputo also has a mobile veterinary ultrasound business, performing ultrasound exams on pets in veterinary hospitals throughout Sonoma and Marin Counties. She was responsible for the first introduction of ultrasound into Sonoma County in 1989.
When she is not working, she enjoys all water sports, traveling, gardening, and makes an attempt at gourmet cooking (pies being her specialty).
